Many medical healthcare insurance companies give benefit for many types of treatment. You need to check whether your medical health care insurance company will cover the treatment you are having.

Depending upon the type of treatment you are going to have, it is advisable to wear clothes which are comfortable for you e.g. loose T-shirt, loose trousers or shorts underneath. If you have just arrived straight from work you are more than welcome to change in the bathroom or another treatment room into more comfortable and looser clothing.

If you have any test results e.g. blood tests, X-rays, MRI scans etc. please bring them with you. Also if you are taking any medication please bring the bottles with you.

You do not need to see your Doctor first, but if you are claiming under private medical insurance you may require a referral from your Doctor. There is no legal requirement to inform your GP, but with your permisson we may ask to write to your GP if your practioner thinks it is neccesary.

As a rule there is no necessity to take any particular medication in order to take advantage of your treatment unless you have been advised by your practitioner.

We can issue off work certificates if the practitioner believes one is required.

There is a possibility that you could be sore after your appointment but this does depend upon the therapy you have chosen. The soreness can come on straight away or after some time (a few hours). There are many ways to reduce the soreness and ease any pain. It is always advisable to follow the advice on your aftercare sheet.

Most probably. If you cannot we can always call someone for you or arrange a taxi.

Yes if you wish, you can have someone present throughout your consultation and treatment.

Osteopathy is not painful, but some patients feel a bit stiff the next day. This is a normal response to the treatment. Where Acupuncture is concerned, it is quite normal the first time to be a bit apprehensive. Once experienced most patients are surprised at how little they felt.

This depends on your condition, but most patients respond within three to four treatments. Should your progress be poor we would write with your consent to your Doctor to arrange further investigation.
